The Albani Estate
 
Riccardo Albani and his family decided to commercialize their vineyards and winemaking in 1991 in the area of Casteggio around their cellar in Casona, an area known for the quality and character of their wines. They have been  organic since that time but certified in 2004.

Great attention has always been paid to the land, especially regarding the wild vegetation that springs up between rows, refusal to use chemical fertilizers or any systemic products, herbicides, insecticides or anti-botrytis treatments. Only a rigorous selection of the healthiest, perfectly ripe grapes at harvest can produce fruit and ultimately wines that are wholesome, rounded, long lived and partner perfectly with food.

Grapes of different varieties and different plots are vinified separately. A mixture of aging in stainless steel tanks and 5-10hl mostly thick walled Bulgarian oak casks, minimal use of sulphur dioxide and almost no filtration complete the process. Once blended the wines remain in the bottle for 4 to 18 months before release.
